Hilary followed her heart in music from the age of 8. After classical piano training then jazz organ training, she went on to work with her father, an excellent big band singer supporting and singing with him. Then she worked semi professionally, later professionally playing the organ to accompany other singers, playing organ and self taught guitar for herself as well as using other backing musicians for her solo singing performances. She played and sang mainly country and middle of the road music in her early days, with a couple of tours of Holland singing at large Country Music festivals there as well as key gigs in the UK. She took a long break from music running a successful recruitment agency specialising in advertising, marketing & design in the UK. During this time she trained in Natural Healing with Nutrition, Bach Flower Essences & Sound Medicine using her voice and tuning forks. She has returned to commercial singing and teaching through the River of Love -True Voice Course!
Lia took keyboard, as well as music theory lessons starting when she was 9. She played Beatles songs with her Yamaha keyboard at 1yrs old for a local hotel, and three years ago decided to learn to play the violin, because she thought the keyboard wasn't a "real" instrument! She and 4 friends wrote a song and recorded it for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest that didn't get through, so they split up! She started going to the music school on the mainland where she studies violin, advanced theory, solfege (counting and singing written music) and dictee (listening to music and writing it onto a music sheet). In January 2007 Hilary and Lia got together and she started playing the keyboards again! After winter success in a local club , she got a professional keyboard , a Roland VA-76. They programmed 30 songs in 2 weeks ready for the summer 2007 season! A mix of Hilary's songs and cover versions. Together they brought the River of Love Concerts and True Voice Course to life!
